Challenge: The general trend toward automating industrial production assembly lines and system solutions is ongoing. This regularly poses challenges for machine and system builders because, despite the desire for standardization, the specific framework conditions and existing structures onsite at a customer’s location often require individual designs far off from these standards.

When Stäubli first approached Spatial they were specifically looking for a 3D engine that was powerful enough to open new possibilities in their software that would enable them to prepare for the next five to ten years in the market.

Solution: The Stäubli Robotics Suite 2022 offers optimized and powerful features that allow both standard and special solutions for complex automation scenarios to be readily visualized, simulated, validated, and realized. These features were enabled by Spatial’s CGM Modeler.

Stäubli Robotics is a leading international player in industrial automation, providing engineering and technical support recognized for their efficiency and reliability. From SCARA, 6-axis industrial robots and cobots to mobile robot systems and Automated Guided Vehicles AGV, their powerful, high-precision solutions allow Stäubli to work with clients in many industries to help them tackle the challenges of Industry 4.0.

Stäubli Robotics, a division of the Swiss-based Stäubli Group, first ventured into robotics in 1982. A partnership with American firm Unimation, the world’s first known manufacturer of articulated robots, led to the first distribution of 6-axis industrial robots. Later that same year, the two collaborated on their first SCARA robots. These hydraulic machines would later evolve into electrically driven SCARAs, and later still, into Stäubli’s 2021 Red Dot Award-winning TS2 SCARA.
